This session will define high-reliability principles, and
describe how to improve process reliability in health care
using high-reliability design and high-reliability teams.
Applying lean manufacturing principles to improve
process reliability and using a cost analysis to determine
reliability targets will also be discussed. An example of
applying these principles in a pharmacy IV compounding
process to achieve highly reliable performance will be
shared.
After this presentation you will be able to:
- Apply high-reliability and lean manufacturing principles to improve process reliability.
- Develop a cost analysis model to aid in determining reliability targets.
- Determine sample size requirements for reliability measurement.
- Identify areas of opportunity in your organization where these principles can be effectively applied.
