This session will share the England Department of
Health's experience and approach to tackling
Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus Aureus (MRSA),
introducing its Saving Lives delivery program for acute
settings and Essential Steps program for non-acute
settings. A powerful set of tools, including a delivery
toolkit for acute hospitals and non-acute settings, will
be reviewed.
After this presentation you will be able to:
- Use a powerful set of tools to implement a systematic, organization-wide change management approach to eradicate avoidable infections.
- Discuss the cultural, behavioral, and organizational issues that need to be addressed when commencing an improvement program in this area.
- Describe the web-based enhanced surveillance system being used by all hospitals in England.
