Current clinical performance indicators are poorly
defined in behavioral health care settings. Performance
measurement is generally not focused on concurrent
outcomes-based monitoring efforts that identify
effective treatment practices and potential treatment
failures. This session will use examples in mental
health and substance use treatment to describe how to
use patient-focused self-reported outcomes monitoring
and practitioner feedback to inform clinical decision
making and improve treatment outcomes.
After this presentation you will be able to:
- Discuss patient-focused self-reported outcomes monitoring and practitioner feedback, and how this model can be used in clinical decision making to improve treatment outcomes.
- Describe how patient-focused self-reported outcomes monitoring can be used to develop practice-based evidence of the effectiveness of treatment approaches.
- Define how to build a favorable and effective organizational climate to support practitioner feedback that includes supervision and coaching approaches.
