The US health care system is inefficient and not nearly as effective
as it should be. While there are numerous efforts underway to
change this, most lack the essential elements necessary to drive
transformative change. This session will discuss critical challenges
in creating a more effective US health care system, as well as
identify the inconvenient truths that call into question many of our
current behaviors and how to address them.
After this session you will be able to:
- List three challenges in transforming US health care.
- Describe the essential elements that drive transformative change.
- Discuss how changes in health systems and physician behavior are critical to achieve transformation.
