      Reliably delivering perinatal care is the goal of all Labor and Delivery units. Participants in this session will learn about the improvements developed in IHI's Idealized Design of Perinatal Care initiative, including elective induction and augmentation bundles, application of reliability principles to improve care, and methods to improve communication and teamwork among the care team.
      After this presentation you will be able to:

• Describe how to improve perinatalcare using reliability principles and the bundles concept.
• Explain how good communication and teamwork are essential to improving perinatalcare.
