Joseph McCannon, Campaign Manager, Institute for Healthcare Improvement
This session will describe the campaign approach to making change across a nation, system or hospital, drawing on the best available learning from IHI's 100,000 Lives Campaign. The operational details of running a campaign will be explored, noting in particular successful strategies from participating hospitals using this approach to engage all stakeholders (boards, leaders, managers, providers, and customers) and generate great intervention-level results. The session will also highlight challenges associated with the campaign approach.
After this presentation you will be able to:
- Describe the campaign approach to spreading improvement.
- Identify key success factors and challenges for running or starting a campaign in a hospital or system.
- Distinguish between the campaign approach and other approaches to spread of innovation and improvement.
