This session will review the key components of Advanced Access, describe how these components are being implemented in two academic practices, and the many challenges presented when implementing. Details of simplifying appointment types, measuring panel sizes, measuring day-to-day appointment demand, forecasting future appointment demand, and using forecasted appointment demand to build schedules and to manage future appointment supply will be presented. A linear regression model that uses number of appointments made each day to forecast future demand for appointments will be discussed. Electronic versions of these tools will be made available to those who attend the session.
After this presentation you will be able to:
- List the key components of Advanced Access.
- Explain how these components can be implemented in academic practice settings.
- Use the tools given in the session to begin implementing Advanced Access in your own setting.
