All YMCAs face crises but it is an even greater challenge when the crisis occurs during a fundraising campaign. It is our responsibility to uphold the excellent reputation of our local association and the national YMCA. Staff, volunteers and board members are all key in delivering consistent, accurate messages that have been carefully crafted by a designated spokesperson.
Participants in this session will learn:
- How to develop three core messages that will mitigate negative press
- How to conduct media training for spokespeople
- How to avoid common mistakes that staff make when speaking to the press
- How to take control of the interview and come out smelling like a rose.
