A discussion of how Cancer Care Nova Scotia made beneficial use of patient and family input as they developed system improvement initiatives will be a part of this presentation. Learners will also hear how the Picker Ambulatory Oncology survey tool was used as an outcome measure to monitor the effectiveness of system improvements. After the presentation, the participant will be able to:
- Explain how patient experiences can be used to shape system-wide initiatives
- Recognize how patient experiences can be used to monitor the effect of system-wide improvement initiatives
- Describe how to disseminate targeted survey results to decision makers as evidence of patient need and/or effect of specific initiative
- Take these learningsand apply to local domain.
