      To meet the challenge of providing equal access to healthcare by overcoming cultural, linguistic, economic, and social barriers, an initiative was launched to develop measures that would improve communication and provide education to patients and staff related to complex issues unique to culturally diverse communities. After the presentation, the participant will be able to:

• Discuss complex access issues unique to culturally diverse communities.
• Identify four important measures of access to healthcare.
• Describe methods to improve communication and provide education about access to care.
