The purpose of this project was to improve a patient identification process that was flawed and open to the possibility of a seriouserror. A game was used with patients and staff to achieve accurate patient identification. Scores were statistically significantly higher after implementation of the new process. After the presentation, the participant will be able to:
- State specific skills to empower patients to be advocates for their own safety
- Describe techniques to overcome organizational silos
- Describe mechanisms to develop a creative approach to a thorny issue
- Utilize data to evaluate program success
