Vicki Keith
Vicki Keith is the most successful marathon swimmer in the history of the sport, holding an unprecedented 16 world records. A member of the Order of Canada, she has coached 12 athletes with a disability to the national level in competitive swimming, and 4 athletes with a physical disability to world records in marathon swimming. Two of Vicki's newest proteges are YMCA participants, Jenna and Natalie Lambert, both of whom will join Vicki as keynote speakers.
Vicki will share her experience as a marathon swimmer and Founder of the Y Knot Abilities Program. This program was designed to help young people with physical disabilities and their able-bodied siblings use sport and recreational opportunities to explore their abilities, while also developing strength, independence, and confidence. Together with teenagers Jenna and Natalie Lambert, Vicki will share their experience and their success as fundraisers for the Kingston Family YMCA. |
