This session describes a delivery system design that has achieved documented improvements in
outcomes, costs, and satisfaction that have been sustained for the past eight years. How the Southcentral
Foundation Nuka model—providing dramatic improvements in health outcomes, reduced total per capita
costs, and significantly happier patients, families, and staff—can serve as a model to other US and
international health systems will be discussed.
