Patients and families share their perspectives, insights, and experience for partnering with
professionals to redesign and improve ambulatory care. Strategies for facilitating patient and family
panels will be modeled, and tools to support successful implementation of patient- and familycentered
care in office-based practices will be shared.
After this presentation you will be able to:
- Develop an appreciation for the importance of patient and family perspectives in shaping the
redesign of ambulatory care.
- Identify various advisory and leadership roles that patients and families can assume in ambulatory care improvement efforts.
- Describe best practices for facilitating a dialogue with patient and family advisors in an
ambulatory practice or organization.
