When it comes to performance evaluation — not to be confused with traditional peer review — providers
are the group most often overlooked by hospitals and clinic practices. This session presents an internally developed,
360‐evaluation process to effectively align provider performance with the long‐term goals of
the medical group and the integrated delivery system of which it is an integral part. Learn the basics for
developing and implementing provider evaluations that reflect you desired clinic culture.
After this presentation you will be able to:
- Identify gaps in your medical group's provider infrastructure that need to be addressed in order to
create a culture of accountability.
- Discuss the long‐term benefits of internal developmental reviews and the purpose of developmental
performance evaluations in creating your desired provider culture.
- Outline the design parameters for developing an internal performance review tool and process.
- Describe the practical resources and support that are critical to the success of the evaluation process.
