Blended Learning Models for
Training Combat Medics

This presentation will provide an overview of empirically
based blended learning ecologies (those that
strategically combine face to face with computer
mediated instruction) created as part of a multi-million
dollar Department of Defense grant awarded to
UNLV’s Division of Outreach to train combat medics.
The presentation will also illustrate and discuss a
number of future trends in blended learning.

The structure of distance education frequently puts
learners at a disadvantage with financial aid, and
as tuition costs increase, learners often have to
postpone their studies. This session will outline the
steps taken by Penn State World Campus staff to establish
a grassroots, staff-funded and -administered
student scholarship program.

an interest in adult learning, integrative pedagogy
and consensus building, strategically coincided
with university-wide Faculty Learning Communities
established to address the core integration goal.
Topics will include lessons learned and the benefits
of forming faculty social networks. |
