Internationalization as a distinct concept, policy, and practice has evolved greatly since its inception more than a quarter century ago and has moved from the periphery of institutional interest to the very center. It is now an integral part of institutional mission statements, policies, and strategies. And yet, as it has gathered momentum and importance, it has also become a more confused and misunderstood concept leading many experts and practitioners to conclude that it is time for a critical reflection on and reevaluation of what we mean by internationalization.
A panel of distinguished speakers will address the issue and will attempt to separate the myth from reality. They will also examine some of the salient issues and areas of interest within the broader internationalization concept, which can provide useful guidance for campus internationalization leaders and implementers alike.
