New and aspiring leaders in professional and continuing education will enhance their leadership abilities and build their professional network during this participatory professional development experience. Addressing the top competencies leaders need as researched by the Leadership and Management Commission, information will be presented through presentations, case study, guided activities, and a panel. Participants will be engaged through interaction in discussions and activities designed to customize competencies to their individual needs. Participants will receive a reading list including recommendations from current UPCEA leaders and will be invited to participate in monthly conference calls. Those participants who are able to attend the UPCEA Annual Conference may earn a 2011 UPCEA certificate in Leading by Doing What Matters by meeting during the conference with UPCEA leaders to discuss the leadership implications of the ideas presented at the conference.
