The UK Department of Health is engaged in an ambitious program of health reform to create locally-led, more innovative health services that put public and patient needs at their heart. This session discusses the program and the development of the Outcomes Framework of roughly 40 indicators across the full set of health and care outcomes. How the framework is being used for public benchmarking of local health commissioners against the core aims of better health, better care, and better value will also be described.
After this presentation you will be able to:
- Describe how to use international and local evidence to develop metrics that work.
- Discuss a performance management approach that drives local improvement.
- Identify the outcomes that matter across all of health, health care, and social care.
