D17/E17 Segmenting and Sequencing: Keys to Successful Improvement

Segmentation and sequencing have become important aspects of reliable design. Segmentation of your improvement work enables you to control some of the variables by testing the validity of the design rather than dealing with barriers, forces an understanding of the difference between segments as design strategies, and allows the formation of more predictable timelines. This session explores the use of these tools and provides examples in health care.

After this presentation you will be able to:

  • Identify how segmentation can be used to test your design.
  • Describe how sequencing when applied with rapid cycle change can enhance reliable design.
