This session focuses on Kaiser Permanente’s journey to refine its quality strategy, align its board and operational leadership, and design an execution strategy that can help the health care delivery teams at the microsystem level achieve transformational change. The session will also describe the challenges faced and strategies used to work collaboratively with labor management partners and leadership to design, test, and deliver solutions that will achieve sustained performance through-out an integrated system.

After this presentation you will be able to:

  • Describe the elements of a quality and performance improvement strategy that link efforts at all levels of the organization, from the front lines to the board.
  • Identify two tools that can be used to define problems and identify appropriate cross-cutting solutions that will result in breakthrough performance.
  • Apply lessons learned to design and test your own performance improvement system.
