This session will discuss the evaluation of quality improvement initiatives in the context of the Organ Donation Breakthrough Collaborative, a nationwide effort to increase organ donation rates. The role of the Collaborative and its evaluation in shaping the Institute of Medicine’s 2006 report on organ donation will be highlighted.

- Build rigorous evaluation components into quality improvement initiatives.
- Make the case for quality improvement to payers, funders, government, etc.
