There has been much discussion about what is necessary to transform the health care work environment, including to “remove barriers that rob (people’s) right to pride of workmanship” (Deming 1994) and “to create the experience of joy and pride at work which is the foundation of service transform-ation” (Bevan 2007). This session will use dialogue, inquiry, and examples of success focused on the use of employee experience data and feedback to improve the workforce environment.
After this presentation you will be able to:
- Discuss the experiences of positive and negative work environments in health care.
- Describe specific situations in health care that create a difficult work environment.
- Give an example of one system’s learning and success related to the use of employee experience data and feedback to improve the workforce environment.
