Sunset began its lean journey in August 2001 and like many
other companies implementing lean we had lots of success on
the shop floor with set-up reduction and 5S. As lean moved
deeper within the company we held a kaizen event focused on
our work order flow system. The outcome, we recognized our
traditional accounting practices such as the shop floor job
costing system was full of waste and inaccurate so we
unplugged it and the fun began. The presentation will take you
through the design – implementation aspects of the value
streams, resource factoring, box score metrics tracking and
value stream P & L statements. |
