Why do some organizations elicit ethical behavior and
others don’t? If you want to translate theory into concrete
action for a viable compliance program, this workshop
is for you. We will build off the seven elements recommended
in the Federal Sentencing Guidelines and
address this question: why does it seem that the more
a company spends on impressive brochures promoting
ethics, the more cynical the employees become? Examine
five key components of a successful ethics program and
demonstrate how and why a “paper” ethics program
can be more dangerous than not having one at all. Key
points include:
- Why “tone at the top” means more than having the
CEO give opening comments during ethics training
- The “in-the-trenches view” to a successful program
and how it can differ form the “penthouse view”
- The most important component of an ethics program
to the rank and file
