Women in Green: Voices of Sustainable Design, highlights the presence of women in sustainable design, which is greater than in architecture generally. This discussion, involving one author and three women, will examine the value of diversity in design and whether feminine sensibilities are relevant to sustainable design.
Learning objectives:
- Describe the role of women in the sustainable design movement and summarize why it is important
- Discuss ways of working and leading that can empower the sustainable design/integrated team process when practiced by women and men and how these ways of working might benefit your own team
- Analyze aspects of right- and left-brain thinking patterns and how those relate to perceptions of sustainability and to the problem-solving processes that best fit those challenges
