Biomimicry is a “new” science that looks to nature as model, mentor, and measure. This is a rapidly growing field in many disciplines but not in architecture. This program is based on research completed in a graduate program at the University of Oklahoma and shows how architects can be a part of this exciting field.
Learning objectives:
- Review principles of biomimicry and identify potential applications to architecture
- Describe, explain, and summarize what biomimicry is and how it can apply to architecture
- Develop creative solutions using biomimicry
