Knowledge communities are groups of volunteers who share common challenges or passion for a given topic and who collaborate to deepen their understanding of that topic through ongoing learning and knowledge sharing. Join advisory group members of the Committee on Leadership Education, a new knowledge community, to explore an architect’s role in civic and community leadership in this final session of the AIA Leadership Conference.
Learning objectives:
- Identify positive skills that involve ethics and taking initiative, teaching, coaching, and maintaining fairness inside and out of the office
- Apply skills in a case study on leadership for architects with the advisory group of the Committee on Leadership Education
- Analyze levels of leadership skills members require to fill leadership roles in the civic, community, and firm arenas
