Striving for platinum-level LEED accreditation at Dell Children's Medical Center of Central Texas, the project team embarked on a daunting challenge for a hospital. As the project nears its 2007 completion, participants will have an opportunity to examine the remarkable impact the final design had on wayfinding and building performance issues.
Learning objectives:
- Identify components of green design which may affect and benefit a building's performance, functionality, and the overall user experience
- Analyze how precise selection and use of materials can embrace and foster principles of sustainable design while redefining and enhancing a facility's wayfinding system
- Address opportunities in specialties and projects where green design components can be introduced to solve a building performance or user group challenge
