This year’s Walter Wagner forum on architecture education will focus on sustainability. How will architecture schools prepare professionals for practice that is less dependent upon fossil fuels and more cognizant of ecological systems? In addition to a progress report on curriculum development and interdisciplinary programs, presenters will discuss potential changes to the National Architectural Accrediting Board conditions and procedures for accreditation that will influence the future of architecture education.
Learning objectives:
- Examine how architecture schools are addressing priorities for sustainability, including energy, water, and ecological systems
- Explore how interdisciplinary programs will affect both architecture education and practice
- Discuss changes that are needed in architecture education and the process for implementing them
