Professional development in our global society suggests that continuing education providers offer relevant programs in languages that reflect their local communities. A leadership supervisory program is under development at the Southern Methodist University, which will be taught primarily in Spanish. The University of Toronto School of Continuing Studies, in collaboration with Sing Tao Newspapers (Canada) Ltd., has developed a certificate in Canadian Business Management Essentials program taught in Cantonese for Chinese immigrants wishing to advance their knowledge of Canadian business practices. Key issues to be discussed are engagement with local communities, in particular, and globalized lifelong learning, in general. |
