Universities must play a critical role in helping states and communities respond to the challenge of the 21st century’s new economy. Continuing education units, as university/community brokers, have a vital role in providing new strategies for innovation, revitalization, and in some cases survival. The increasing interdependence of workforce, economic and community development provides one avenue through which continuing education can demonstrate its strategic role. |
