Katherine Falk

Katherine Falk, CFRE, believes passionately in the ability of young people to give their time, talent and treasure for the common good and our responsibility to encourage and nurture their efforts. She has been a pioneer in the Youth in Philanthropy (YIP) Movement since 1991. Katherine chaired International AFP's Youth in Philanthropy (YIP) Task Force from 2004 through 2006 and was an architect of AFP's first Youth in Philanthropy Summit. She has published widely and presented internationally about youth philanthropy. She chairs NJ's innovative, award-winning Youth In Philanthropy (YIP) program and worked on a special two-year project to have philanthropy included in the New Jersey Department of Education's Core Curriculum Standards. Katherine received a Decade of Leadership Excellence Award in 2004 from AFP-NJ for her work with Youth In Philanthropy and the President's Award for Outstanding Service to the Fund Raising Profession in 1997 and 2000. She has served on several boards including AFP-NJ's and is an active volunteer.
In addition to her youth philanthropy focus, Katherine is Principal of Falk Associates, Nonprofit Development Consultants, and has worked with organizations in this country and abroad on the creation of organized development programs, long range and strategic plans, major gift acquisition and capital campaign planning and management. Her clients have included international institutions as well as arts, education, social services, health and community development organizations.
Youth are the future of philanthropy and are already a mighty force. Around the world, inside AFP and out, nonprofit organizations have helped propel the Youth Philanthropy Movement.
