Margaret May Damen, CFP, CLU, ChFC, CDFA is President and Founder of The Institute for Women and Wealth in Palm City, Florida. Ms.Damen retired in 2002 after a distinguished 18 year career as a Senior Financial Advisor with American Express Financial Advisors. She received her Bachelor and Masters Degrees from Boston University. Her career in fundraising began in the mid-70's as a Vice-President for Development and Public Relations at B.U. She is an accomplished trainer and public speaker, and the author of "Money $ense for Women." Ms. Damen was a featured presentor at the 2005 and 2006 National Conferences on Planned Giving, the 2004 and 2006 Florida State AFP Conferences and the 2006 IAFP Conference in Atlanta.
This presentation will provide insight into the largest generational cohort coming of age in the 21st century- Boom-Generation Women. It will explore the impact they will have on designing a new paradigm for giving. For the first time in history, millions of women have the emotional literacy, financial confidence and control of the economic means to make major and lifetime gifts to philanthropic endeavors that mirror their core values and beliefs. The session will address what are the implications for fundraising professionals and explore strategies to capture and retain the loyalty of these donors with significant wealth and wisdom.
