Compliance
The process of meeting the expectations of others. More specifically, it is the process of helping our health care professionals understand and meet the expectations of those who grant us money, pay for our services, regulate our industry, etc. Health care compliance includes numerous issues such as reimbursement, grant accounting, managed care, OSHA and Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations regulations, licensure, and due diligence to prevent and detect violations of the law.
Major Functions
- To promote quality compliance programs in health care — their introduction, development, and maintenance.
- To provide a forum for interaction and information exchange to enable our members to provide high quality compliance programs.
- To create high quality educational opportunities for those involved with compliance in the health care industry.
HCCA is not meant to:
Focus on clinical or bio-ethical compliance issues or duplicate the current efforts of general and specialty-specific national associations that lobby for regulatory changes.
