EIA VISION
EIA seeks to expand educational opportunities and improve educational achievement for learners of all ages by infusing American education with market-based drivers of service, innovation, and results.
EIA MISSION
EIA’s mission is to promote increased public support for the education industry in order to improve educational opportunities and outcomes for all students.
EIA STRATEGIC GOALS
EIA works to foster the development of a vibrant preK-16 education industry by:
- Enhancing accountability and quality throughout the industry by promoting industry standards, professional development and networking opportunities.
- Promoting public policies that ensure equitable and fair access to the education marketplace.
- Educating the public about the contributions of the education industry for improved service, results, and innovation.
- Documenting and disseminating program outcomes and best practices.
WHO WE ARE
EIA is the leading umbrella professional association representing more than 600 rapidly growing and multi-faceted companies serving the pre K-16 education industry.
Founded in 1990, EIA is the premier professional association for private providers of education services and suppliers/developers of educational content. EIA is the industry’s collective voice, and represents all education sectors, from early childhood through post-secondary education.
- The Association provides the framework for individual education entrepreneurs and corporate executives, together with public school leaders, to work together to promote effective models for transforming teaching and learning.
- EIA represents the collective strengths and contributions of the multi-faceted education industry—an organization that projects a reasoned and positive voice for innovators in the supply of academic services and products.
- Because our focus is ultimately on expanding opportunity and performance, we seek mutually respectful relationships with coalitions representing parents, school administrators/boards, and teachers, who all seek to improve educational outcomes in PreK-12 education. We also work on behalf of post secondary education providers, and their representatives, to help them expand options for adults seeking advanced degrees.
- The education industry is poised for explosive growth in all of its segments from preK-12 through post-secondary education. In fact, education is rapidly becoming a $1 trillion industry, second in size only to the health care industry, and represents 10 percent of America’s GNP. Federal and state expenditures on education exceed $750 billion.
WHAT WE STAND FOR
EIA works to expand educational opportunities and improve educational achievement for learners of all ages through the values of public/private partnerships, innovation and accountability.
We promote public policies consistent with market-based reform. EIA works to ensure that our members who are Supplemental Education Service (SES) providers under NCLB have fair and equitable access to serving eligible students.
We embrace public/private partnerships that advance effective teaching and learning. EIA sponsors forums like Education Industry Day, to inform our members of the benefits of working through and with public education institutions.
- We seek to improve educational outcomes in preK-12 education by partnering with parents, schools and community organizations. EIA sponsors professional development and networking opportunities that raise the raise of our members’ services.
- We also work on behalf of post-secondary education providers to help them expand options for adults seeking advanced degrees. EIA supports changes in the HEA to expand opportunities for Title IV-eligible students to learn “at a distance,” and to add provisions for greater accountability.
